Begone, psychopath...shoo!

This person I know, once told me (reacting to my claim of being an ‘obsessive perfectionist’) that perfection is a myth…I agree…however, appearances matter…why, otherwise, would you bother to “prepare a face to meet the faces that you meet”? seemingly perfect things are aesthetically pleasing…this is because they seem complete thus fulfilling our desire for entirety, wholeness…the same argument is given by some men in support of the attractiveness of certain blobs of flesh (whose only purpose for adorning the female body is to produce baby-nourishing hormonal juices) otherwise known as breasts…ergo, their roundness (here I would like to point out that breasts aren’t usually round …which is probably why Mallika Sherawat and suchlike aliens attractive to men-who-think-with-their-crotches have to go for surgery…what beats me is how they beat gravity with those humongous thingies…unless they balance it out with butt-surgery)…nothing is complete, or perfect in our chaotic, fragmentary and separate existences…therefore, (the semblance of)perfection is so important

It’s so easy to say that there is no black and white…only grey…but how many can really put that into practice? Can you always easily acknowledge the goodness in a person you loathe and at the same time feel the same unmixed loathing for him/her? That is, if you really (love to) hate a certain somebody, isn’t it easier not to admit his/her good qualities? That way, life is uncomplicated…otherwise it becomes so much more messy…everything stacked into neat piles, compartmentalized, committed to perfectly balanced columns… *wistful sigh*

Though of course Pratchett has to say this about such people:
