nandigram

it's very difficult to assimilate this time...because i have it from a reliable source...i mean, hell, i was supposed to go with them but *&%$!@#$*&^!

1. i mean how am i supposed to rationalise and internalise all that i heard this time around?
2. a girl my age, a year or so younger really, wanted to study with support from her family...and study she did till class eight...but she couldn't continue because the local party goons started throwing acid at her the moment she ventured out of her house...undaunted, she bought a cycle...they in their turn started chasing her on bikes...she has decided she won't marry ( at least not immediately) and wants to continue her studies at whatever costs...but now has to stay at Tamluk Hospital with her injured mother...for fear of what might happen if she went back to her village
3. an old lady suffering from tremendous trauma at the Tamluk Hospital was interviewed...she says this kid (she indicates the height but can't tell the age...so around seven/eight years old) came running to her during the open firing in nandigram because his mother had been taken away by the police...he clung to her as she fought with the police telling them they had to kill her first...however, the boy was torn away from her and was beheaded in front of her with what she calls a jontro...probably a bayone
4. an unidentified doctor (because the patient does not know his name) made an injured woman spread her legs in full view of police men and others for an internal examination and actually invited others to come and take a look

and here we are sitting and taking about women's lib, free speech, living with dignity, debating over 'development', etc, etc.
